I am singer songwriter and creative individual who loves music, specifically soul music- so thats any genre of music made from the soul! so it has that quality that makes you feel something different! I’m all about The Light and that anything for the betterment of the human experience.
Music is the universal language that we all understand. You go anywhere in the world, any age. gender, faith you will find a way to connect with someone with a song/melody, I think that is amazing!
Music is so many things for me; its stories, facts, history, lessons, it is healing , its joy, its peace, sometimes its pain, its hurt but its love too and so music is an imitation of life! Its the soundtrack to life. More personally it is my solace, its my expression.
To be honest there are so many, at different stages of my life I have had different
There was a lot of music played in my household! When i was little girl I did love the spice girls, ‘Wannabe’ was my song! Got a little older and it was anything by Destinys child. My dad would play his reggae which I have some of his vinyl collection today its timeless. While my mum would play some soul, old school traditional afrobeats connecting me to the culture and good gospel music- connecting me to music on a spiritual level.
My three brothers played there part too. My eldest was all about garage, a hiphop and neo soul. The last brother mainly RnB and what was popping then. But my middle bro I would say was the main one he really got me on hip hop/ soul he used to play all of it, Common, Tupac, Lupe, Anthony, Erykah, Musiq, etc – he played the best. All of these really allowed me to appreciate music in its many forms. One of the first artists I discovered and latched on to myself was Alicia Keys when she came out I sang her stuff everywhere.
To be honest I don’t really do pre drinks, but – Donnel Jones – You Know Whats Up is a vibe or J Hus- Did You See! Big tune
My ideal would have to be going to a live concert with a full band and backing vocalist all doing their thing!
or a house jam with some good people, good food, good conversation and of course good music in the back! ( it won’t be at my house so that counts as a night out right? )
Chocolate digestives 🙁 !
Music to make you feel good, reflect a little and bob you head!
