Southampton based indie band, Costellos, have been smashing the music scene in the last 12 months; and they’re not about to stop anytime soon. These rock ‘n’ rollers played numerous major festivals last summer, such as the Isle of Wight Festival and Common People. We caught up with them to find out a little bit more about what life is like as a Costello and what the future holds for the lads.
We have George Dummett on Vocals and Guitar, Keiran Pearce on Guitar, Kieran Wilson on Bass and Tomi Lewis on Drums.
Our biggest Inspirations vary. Obviously, we are influenced by guitar based music, so bands like The Libertines, The Stone roses and bands like that; but we also have quite a mixed taste in music, from Indie bands to the odd Hip hop track here and there.
Our Highlights have been playing Festivals like Isle of Wight and Supporting bands like Blossoms as well; but at the moment the thing we are most proud of is releasing our new Single ‘Keep on Lying’. We worked really hard on that track so having an amazing buzz about it is something we are very proud of.
There are many acts we would like to tour with, it’s hard to say! Probably previous bands mentioned, but then even playing shows alongside artists we like is always good as well.
The music scene in Southampton is really strong at the moment, we’re lucky to be a part of it. Bands like Cassava, The Novatones and Dead Freights, too many! It’s strong, the thing with bands in Southampton is they don’t get as much recognition as they deserve.

We have some very big plans for 2017. More Gigs, more music and just get bigger all round really. We’re dead excited to get out there now.
The current Music Scene is good at the moment. Good to see people grafting.
An average night out? We love it, but we do like to save ourselves for out of City shows!
Our 5 tunes would be:
New Order – Blue Monday
The Charlatans – One to another
Roy Ayers – Everybody Loves the sunshine
Wham! – Club Tropicana
Happy Mondays – Loose Fit
