UK Country Singer Becky Lawrence will host a BlueJay session on Friday August 25th at 8pm!
Born and bred on the Isle of Man, Becky decided to trade country life for big city lights and moved to London. After graduating from the London School of Musical Theatre and pursuing a successful career in Musical Theatre, Becky decided that music was her passion.
She grew up listening to eclectic mix of music, but country music really appealed to her the most. Becky has since moved the South West of England and has worked with a top selling producer and sound engineer to producer her latest EP ‘A Child’s Tears’. As well as gigging around Bristol with her own music, Becky also co-writes music with Indie Folk singer/songwriter Amie K and plays along side Clyve & The Soul City Foundation in Bath.
So, what can we expect from Becky’s BlueJay session? We caught up with her to find out a little bit more.
I’m a UK Country Singer/Songwriter, descended from the shore of the Isle of Man, currently living in Wiltshire.
Music means passion, escape and pure emotion! There is always a song to fit my mood!
I’m influenced by a lot of different people and genres but mainly I would say Kate Bush, Reba McEntire & Stevie Nicks
I was brought up listening to a variety of different genres from my parents. My dad brought me up listening to that old school 80s rock/metal and with my mum, we listened to a lot of Genesis, Roxette, Dolly Parton etc!
That’s a tough one! Depend on the occasion, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun is always a winner!
Couple of mates, a few pubs, good food and karaoke!
I LOVE watching things like Real Housewives and The Kardashians!
You can expect some original writing, passion and storytelling. Enjoy!
